Traditional Karate Winnipeg

Welcome to Traditional Karate Winnipeg. Our dojo is committed to providing the highest standards and principles of Traditional Shotokan Karate.

Our instruction focuses on self defense, conditioning, competition, physical fitness, as well as the Budo aspect (being completely aware and alert).

Purpose of Traditional Karate

The purpose of Traditional Karate is to develop a high level of well-balanced mind, body and spirit through training in fighting techniques. Budo is an essential and fundamental part of the training.

In a self defense situation, true karate dictates taking down an opponent with a single finishing blow.

Budo creates a higher level of awareness that prevents any violent attack before an actual fight occurs.

Karate training has demonstrated benefits in the character development of its youth participants and has also shown significant positive effects on the spiritual and physical development of its overall practitioners.
